It’s Kind of a Funny Story

This comedy aims to remove the stigma attached to severe mental health issues by somewhat normalising the psychiatric unit environment in which it is set. 16-year-old Craig (Keir Gilchrist) admits himself to the mental health hospital when his depression reaches crisis point and he begins to experience suicidal thoughts. With the youth wing of the hospital under construction, Craig ends up being placed in the adult unit where he is introduced to Bobby (Zach Galifianakis) who quickly takes him under his wing. The two build a comedic but touching relationship whilst navigating the ups and downs of life in hospital.
