Prefrontal cortex

The prefrontal cortex, sometimes referred to as the “executive centre” of the brain, is located at the very front of the frontal lobe and accounts for around 30% of the human brain. It is involved in higher cognitive functions such as problem solving, complex thought, planning, impulse control and personality development. Development of the prefrontal cortex plays a significant role in maturation, as it continues to develop beyond puberty.Amen Clinics. (2017). What is the “Executive Center” for the brain?.
