Adrenal glands

The adrenal glands are two glands located at the top of each kidney, composed of two distinct parts: the adrenal cortex and the adrenal medulla. The adrenal cortex produces vital hormones such as cortisol, DHEA and testosterone; and is also part of the HPA axis. The adrenal medulla produces adrenaline, noradrenaline and a small amount of dopamine. You and Your Hormones from the Society for Endocrinology. (2018). Adrenal glands.
